If you are beginning a workout regimen then one important factor that you will want to consider is nutrition, because you will be stressing your body and its components in ways that are not normal. The fact is that when you workout, you in fact stress and tear muscle fibers and connective tissue in your body and that is what signals your body to rebuild them stronger.
If you don't have adequate nutrients for your body to rebuild with then it will have trouble rebuilding what you have broken down during your workout. Never diet when you are in the middle of a workout regimen, because you will find that you will in fact become weaker as the result of the lack of nutrients and combined stress on your body.
Consider Nutritional Supplements
One thing that you might want to consider is taking a nutritional supplement to help your body bulk up. Any chemical enhancers or stimulants are foolish to even consider, because any benefit that you receive from them will be temporary at best.
There might be someone that is at your gym that is using chemical stimulants as part of his or her workout routine and may swear by them. If you watch them however; in time they will begin to miss days and in a few months they will be gone.
This is because the effects of any stimulants fade in time and they are habit forming. This means that before long, the person who originally was choosing to use them will find themselves unable to workout without them.
Steroids are definitely to be avoided as they damage body organs and are also habit forming. While on the surface they can be tempting, because they can quickly build massive bulk, in the end when you have liver cancer or brittle discs in your back that are rupturing and leave you bed ridden you won't be in such good shape.
The best idea is to eat well and in moderation and to not over do it when you workout and think long term, because fitness is a lifetime plan. When you adopt a plan of “total” fitness that includes all aspects of your life you will see greater and longer lasting results from the work that you put into staying in shape.
