Bowflex 410 Upgrade: It’s Just Too Easy

It was only a few decades back when the first Bowflex Fitness Machines took the fitness market by surprise with brand new, amazing yet very simple power-rod technology. Over the course of the years since then Bowflex has come out with a complete line of fitness machines and all come stock with a set amount of resistance and while some can be upgraded in weight resistance others can’t. It is worth noting that no machines with Spiraflex technology will go over 300 lb.

Proven Low Impact Exercise Equipment: Live Longer & Feel Better

There was a time, up until around the early seventies when not much thought was giving to low impact exercise. In deed there were very limited options anyway. It was get out there and “pound the pavement”, take your knocks and deal with the aftermath when it came later in life.

The fact is that heavy high impact exercise of any type will lead to injuries to one degree or another if given enough time. So back then, in time, as people aged those who engaged in heavy exercise, including daily jogging eventually found their way into a clinic for joint and connective tissues problems.

Then as more people became aware of the “exercise injury” connection, swimming and water sports began to be promoted as a safe option. Speed walking also began to come into vogue as well. Then something happened that began to allow people more options to exercise the way that they wanted to without the risk of injuries.

The First Low Impact Exercise Machines

This was the development of the first low impact exercise equipment that duplicated natural pavement pounding exercises, only without the pavement pounding. One of the very first of these types of machines and device was the original Bowflex weight machine that uses low impact power-rods to supply the weight resistance.

Also around this time around 35 years ago the treadmill machine began to be marketed as a low impact option to running. Of course treadmills had been around for years and in fact were even used as a “disciplinary/torture” device in prisons during the 1800s. Even so, they had never been marketed to private parties in the way that they began to be.

Now fast forward to the present time and today there is an amazing selection of low impact exercise machines available on the market. One of the most recent to make its public debut is the engineering masterpiece commonly referred to as the treadclimber. Truly a work of mechanical art.

There are several versions of this wonder machine ranging in price from $50 all the way up to $5,000 but they all function off of the same premise. This is the duplication of the body motions and actions of walking up a set of stairs. It truly is amazing how well the better of these machines can do this with zero impact.

Why Pay When There’s Free Weight Equipment? – It’s in Your Community

All weights and weight equipment have one thing in common and that is that it’s heavy. It’s this one very aspect that so often makes it so hard to get rid of once it is no longer needed. Kids grow up, roommates move away and people just peter out on their workout regimens and the end result is that there’s a heck of a lot of free weight equipment out there to be had.

Once It’s No Longer Being Used – It Becomes a Problem

It can’t be set out front for the garbage man to pick up because they won’t take it. Besides, all to often the weights themselves are too heavy for the people left with them in their garage or on their back porch to handle. So there they sit until they can find someone to take them off their hands.

Check the Classifieds for Free Weight Equipment

In this age of the Internet, far too many people and you may be one of them, have completely forgotten about traditional “age old tested” methods of advertising and soliciting. One fine example is the classified section in your local news paper. You can well rest assured that people are still using it or they simply wouldn’t print it any more.

Place Your Own Adds in Local Papers

Step one would be to place an add there for free weight equipment. Then as soon as you finish with that call, look up the number of a local “Penny Saver” bi-weekly advertiser. They’re still in business and people still brows them for local deals.

Think Local for Something That Heavy

Remember that when you think free weight equipment, you must think “local”. Shipping costs on something that heavy will eat you alive and beside, most people giving something like this away free just aren’t going to want to hassle with it. So you will want to keep your “cost factor” down to a minimum.

Hit the Local Laundromats!

Finally, one last stop that you’ll want to make, is your local laundromat. If you have never been in one, which is possible, yet highly unlikely then you need to know that every laundromat has a cork bulletin board where people can tack up adds. Simply make up a few hand written cards and drive around tacking them up in local laundromats.
