My Opinions on Bowflex Dumbbells
In all actuality, Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells are a fitness equipment luxury item. When you have one in your hand and are using it, it feels and functions no different from a cheap set of dumbbells that you can buy at your local thrift store. The irony about it, is that it’s while they are out of your hand and not being lifted that the differences manifest themselves.
What They Do They Do Quite Well
So, is it really worth paying the extra money for SelectTechs, when standard dumbbells do the exact same job? That in fact is for you to decide but what Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells do that is different, they do quite well. To begin with, one compact set of SelectTechs replaces several sets of loose standard Dumbbells, which is good if you are particular about the space that you work out in.
A More Total Workout
Also, as far as speed, as it pertains to switching weights on your dumbbells while doing your reps, there is simply no comparison. In fact, SelectTech dumbbells bring a new element to dumbbell lifting that was before completely unavailable. That is that with SelecTechs you can quickly adjust down the weight as your reps progress, to account and adjust for muscle fatigue, resulting in a more “total” workout.
Far More Portable

Bowflex Dumbbells with Stand
If it matters to you at all SelectTechs are far more portable too. Move them around your home or carry them to your car if you want, because it’s all one compact contained unit. Beyond that, other than the fact that they are in fact quite attractive to look at with their rubber coated geometric form, they are in the end just dumbbells, so the actual results that you achieve with them depends entirely on the effort you put in.
