I have two Soloflex machines. I paid $40 for the first one used and $150 for the second. They are great. I use one in conjunction with the other for circut training--it's easier with two than one in terms of saving time with change-over. It's super heavy duty. It's way better than the Bowflex I have, in my opinion. You can do almost any exersize with this machine. On my Bowflex and Total Gym, I have broke cables on occasion due to the amount of weight I use--I don't see that happening with the Soloflex! Praise the Lord! Michael Wealth

while everyone seems to have hit almost everything i would have said... id like to add more on the solo flex plus side...if any one has children...hence,we all love them and want them safe...im glad i chose the solo flex..if i had choosen the bow flex...im sure i would have had a child on the way to hospital over the years..due to safety issues...same issues as free weights...drop one on a kids toe...or pull back on a plastic pipe and get hit in the face...these things can happen if by some chance your not around....oops...or even if you are...thats all it takes....however with the solo flex...stretching a band left on the floor or even the machine..wont pose a problem...its by far the best overall...period...

I purchased my Soloflex over twenty-two years ago and never regretted it. This machine will last a life time. What I like most about Soloflex is the versatility. You can do chin-ups, pull-up, abdominal crunches, etc. You can also use freeweights if you desire. I like the feel of the rubber bands. They are very easy on the joints and as I get older, I appreciate this feature more and more. The bands last a very long time. A little Armorall a few times a year will help to preserve them. Best of all, the Soloflex uses little room and fit's nicely in a corner.

Well you can add up to 500lbs in free weights on the Soloflex. It is made from steel and is made better than most comercial equipment. I am a 250lb bodybuilder and use it in the off season to save my joints. Bench press over 400lbs with the optional weight attachment with a Olympic sleeve.

You simply cannot do that with the Bowflex. The Bowflex is a toy for people who don't know any better. A joke really in comparison.

No contest, Soloflex.
