You can effectively work out your lats, shoulders, back, chest, tris, bis, etc in a variety of different ways and angles with plenty of additional resistance to spare. I’ve used free weights for years, but my 3 1/2 year old and 8 month old make it hard for my wife and I to go to the gym. This Bowflex has been an ideal solution for us.

I bought a used BF Motivator 2 from a very old man in Myrtle Beach, who I guess bought it as a last attempt at working out–it was in brand new condition, and I got it for $500. I’ve used it for almost a year now, and the Motivator is a great machine. Bowflex only discontinued it because the Motivator was killing the sales of their higher priced models. And don’t believe that it can’t be upgraded, for all you have to do is bend the two tabs over the power-rod box, and voila, there is the old Motivator box which is fully upgradable to 310. To upgrade to 410, remove from the bottom of the power-rod box the “L” shaped plate that Bowflex used to cover the 410 slide on upgrade. Flip the “L” shaped upside down and screw it back into the box, and you are ready for the 410 upgrade.
