If you are in the market for a Bodycraft home gym and in particular the Bodycraft Galena home gym then it is highly advised that you take a close look at the Bodycraft Xpress before you make your final decision. Although the Bodycraft Galena recently received the “Best Buy” award from consumers digest it is important to bear in mind that the people who make decisions for this magazine base their criteria on things other than what a body builder often would.

For one thing, while the base model is competitively priced on the surface it does have a somewhat limited range of exercise options that are truly practical. Also, it doesn't come stock with a leg press option that most people will want and that adds on another $500 dollars to the total price after it is included.

The Bodycraft Galena

Bodycraft GalenaThe actual dimensions of the Bodycraft Galena home gym are as follows.

It is 58 inches wide and 72 inches tall with the press station going up to 92 inches in total.

It comes with a total of 200 pounds of standard iron weights that are in ten pound increments that are padded with nylon bushings for smooth operation.

Other standard features include a curl bar, lat bar, ankle strap as well as two single handles.

There are some nice features that set the Bodycraft Galena apart from the crowd of workout machines though, such as a nice high pulley for lat pull downs, self aligning leg extension and curl station, and a super compact design that makes this home gym so easy to fit into a corner of a home or office.

The main competitor of the Bodycraft Galena is the Bowflex Ultimate 2 home gym, because it is in the same price range. One obvious difference that separates these two home gyms however; is that the Bowflex Gym doesn't use standard iron weights but rather uses a high tech engineered resistance system that many people tend to prefer.

However; the Bowflex Ultimate 2 home gym is somewhat bigger and bulkier and thus my not fit in the space that you have for your home gym. Also, the Bowflex Ultimate 2 offers other exercises that the Bodycraft home gym doesn't. In final analysis it can be said that there are many options to consider in home gyms along with price, so take your time and look around before you make your final decision.
